Date: 2007-06-06 05:02 am (UTC)How about character X (we'll call him . . . Devan) and character Y (Alex) decide to check out the local haunted house on Halloween night and discover that their neighbour very literally has skeletons in his closet? Skeletons who proceed to challenge them to a duel! And wear those funny little viking helmets.
However, because Devan and Alex are bad at dueling (it hasn't been practised in a century or two, after all), they manage to convince the skeletons to play Trivial Pursuit instead. Naturally, since skeletons don't watch Jeopardy and , thus, don't have the opportunity to learn loads of relatively useless facts, they lose. Admitting defeat, the skeletons take the boys down to the basement where they discover . . . a Mysterious Cardboard Box! And inside that box . . . is Another Mysterious Cardboard Box!
Finally, after about a dozen boxes, they stumble upon their neighbour's Dark, Terrible Secret, which is appropriately ironic . . . he's a skeleton, too, who is testing out a new skeleton product, SkinReplacer3000!
Err . . . I came up with all of that in about five minutes and just let the randomness keep multiplying, so . . .
If it helps at all, I've got some original fiction kicking around that you're more than welcome to take a look at for inspiration or whatnot. There are a few more stories on my hard drive that I've never uploaded, but most of those are incomplete.
(On a sidenote, I started playing Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines again. Except this time, I created a Malkavian and gave him Armand's personality. This should be interesting . . . [My apologies if it's too insignificant, but you're the only other person I know who's familiar with Anne Rice.])
