Ahh! Strawberry Panic! I barely know anything about the series, but when I was watching Maria-sama ga Miteru on Veoh, that name got thrown around a lot in the user comments. Mostly it was people arguing over whether Strawberry Panic (more physical yuri, funnier, more teenage-like) or Maria-sama ga Miteru (more focus on emotions, more serious, relatively mature students) was better. I was curious and tried to watch an episode of Strawberry Panic, but what I saw was like Maria-sama on crack with worse animation. (I can also only take so much of people speaking in formal Japanese under the hierarchy of the school system, which is something you rarely have in shounen series.)
