ladynoremon: (Lestat is HOT!)

Lestat is a Mary-Sue...

Lestat de Lioncourt from the "Vampire Chronicles" scored 144 on The Universal Mary-Sue Litmus Test. [though I did count "Do you find your character attractive enough to date him/her?" because Rice did base him off her husband when she created Lestat]

[livejournal.com profile] alchemy_hisoka , are you as surprised as me that it wasn't higher? Though maybe I was too lenient?

Please take the test for Armand babes XD

EDIT---

Zinnian scored 28 >.> [probably would have been lower if I didn't include things like "Does your character have telepathic and/or telekinetic (Force-like) abilities in a world where this is unusual?", when thinking that most people in WOD don't have Auspex, etc.]

Armand scored 18. It would have been a bit higher, but I decided to restrict myself to Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat. I also put a bit of my own interpretation into some of the questions. (For example, on the question of language skills, I said Armand could speak five languages: Russian [native], Italian [Marius], Latin [again, Marius], French [lived in France], and English [lived in US]; that may or may not be correct, but considering he's had over 500 years to practise . . .)

. . . 144 for Lestat? That's quite a lot. At least compared to the scale and to Armand.

Here's exactly what I selected for Armand:

-Is or does your character's name... f. Something that your character chose for him/herself? [Technically, it's a variation on the name Marius gave him.]

-Is your character described, illustrated, and/or shown as exceptionally beautiful, cute, or handsome? [. . . is there anyone in the VC who isn't?]

-Do you use poetic and/or creative terms to describe your character? [I was particularly thinking of how his hair and eyes are described.]

-Does your character have any of the following? c. Natural hair color that stands out from the norm? [This is going into later books a bit, but Armand's auburn hair does seem . . . noteworthy? Or maybe it's just Marius who obsesses over it.]

-Does your character have a particularly piercing (EG, "can stare straight into your soul"), haunting, captivating, or dazzling gaze? [May be more my interpretation, especially after watching Death in Venice.]

-Not counting his or her first language, how many languages does your character fluently speak? Click one box for every language: [4]

-On the subject of your character and his/her family... a. Was your character orphaned, abandoned, kicked out, or at least raised by a family/person that was not his/her own family AND e. Was he/she adopted by a cruel family or person? [TVL says he was kidnapped and sold into prostitution, which is expanded on in TVA.]

-What about any of these? b. Born/forced into slavery? AND g. Abused? AND h. Raped? [Does prostitution count as slavery? The others are assumed. He was also almost castrated.]

-Has your character otherwise lost... b. Lover? [Marius; Armand still lost him, even if they were reunited around half a millennium later.]

-Has your character ever been honestly selfish, petty, lazy, shallow, or pointlessly cruel? [Burning his followers in TVL, letting his coven die at Louis' hands and killing his boy in IwtV, lying to Louis about what happened at the Théâtre, cutting off Nicolas' hands, killing Claudia . . .]

-Has your character ever been in a situation that he/she had no way of overcoming on his/her own? b. Did he/she give up after failing? [TVL/TVA after Marius 'died' and he became a coven master.]

-If your character is vampire, is he/she... b. Maybe not mindless, but has no significant moral or emotional issues with killing/murder? [Especially post-Marius.]

Lestat has decided that this quiz was very one-sided and has begun working on his own version in which Armand will score like 50000 ;P (it will have a question like; "Does your character have auburn hair?" or "Has your character been head of a coven before?")

Yeah sorry for the late reply D:

I see how you got that with your's.

Thank you for the most laughs I've had in weeks. ^________^

Somewhat related, but I watched a movie called Velvet Goldmine around Christmas time. It's heavily inspired on 1970s glam rock and featured several music video-style scenes, including this one. I'm not sure about the music style or video imagery, but I think Lestat would appreciate the singer's outfit.

Ah you are welcome, that's what I try for really *hair flip*~ But I really do like makign people laugh, 'specially with odder jokes and Crack.

Looks more like the guy from "Rock Me Amadeus" :3 But it is certainly interesting. What was the movie like?

Yay for making people laugh. ^^

"Rock Me Amadeus" guy was my second look-alike choice. :p

Velvet Goldmine was . . . good. I didn't think I'd like it, but I wanted to see Christian Bale in other (non-Batman) roles. Lots of '70s rock songs and shiny, snazzy outfits. Also, quite a bit of sex (both straight and gay), but nothing terribly explicit.

Bale's character was a glam rock fan during his teenage years in England; he later moved to the US and became a reporter. At the beginning of the film, he's assigned to write an article about the faked shooting and later disappearance of his favourite rock idol, with most of the movie told in flashbacks. There's also a subplot in which Bale's character has to come to terms with his bisexuality.

I've read that the glam rock star in the film is similar to David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, but not knowing much about Bowie's history, I can't say.
